School health program (SHP) is an important component of the overall health care delivery system of any country. This program is targeted to school children. Teachers play a major role in the promotion and successful implementation of the program. For this reason the knowledge, attitude and practice of SHP among teachers of school inKathmandu, Nepal was evaluated. Objective of the study was to assess knowledge, attitude and practices of school teachers with special reference to school health programme. The cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out in 72 urban teachers of 24 secondary schools in wards 16 and 17 of Kathmandu metropolitan city. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaires and analysed using simple frequency tables. The study resulted majority of schools teachers were aware about the SHP but the attitude and practice were not foundsatisfactory. Lacking money, physical and cooperation among the stake holders were the key barriers to run SHP programme effectively. It is recommended to make available required resources for the full implementation of SHP in all schools.
